I won't be reading this as it's the same drivel that's been said many times before, but I hope you don't lose any sleep over it.

I couldn't give a monkeys arse on the approach as long as we end up with a better squad than we finished with

I'm sure it's all intentional Dom :)

I like the way we do business.
one target (striker) is very much in the public eye, it detracts from what else we are doing and usually the first we hear of it is someone has actually signed

No but then I'm not a cunt that believes everything in the papers or newsnow like some retards

Haha you silly cunt. Didn't notice the interview with Sullivan last month where he confirmed we had tabled bids for FIVE players then?

You retard.

"Annoucing to the world we were prepared to spent 30m on a striker was stupid"

How else do you expect us to bid on players like Lacazette and Batshuayi without revealing how much you're prepared to bid?

Re: Our approach to transfers
Annoucing to the world we were prepared to spent £30m on a striker was stupid, now every chairman who has a £20m striker wants £30m for him as they know we can afford it.

oa

when we bid 10m for Payet last summer we looked to be pissing in the wind, didn't we? When we tried to sign Carroll upon promotion (even just on loan) most on here thought he would never come to us. Sometimes it's worth aiming high.

Re: Our approach to transfers
Has Lacazette ever said he wouldn't sign for us?

ornchurch ammer 11:34 Tue Jul 5
Re: Our approach to transfers
I'd rather we put in a bid for a player that we had a chance of signing rather than a £30-£40m bid for a player that has no intention of signing for us.

Only a dimlo would see that as a statement of intent rather than pissing in the wind.

Re: Our approach to transfers
Palace have done well so far
They have traded Dwight Gayle for Andros Townsend at a cost of £3m and picked up an experienced back up keeper in Mandana.

They realise their weakness is a proper striker so are doing their best to upgrade on the likes of Adebayor, Chamack etc.
If I was a Palace fan I'd approve the strategy and focus.
Especially if I could pay for the striker by off-loading the up and down Bolasie. A bit of a Match of The Day player for mine .... one that people see the highlights think is better than those that watch him every week.

Re: Our approach to transfers
You have to take some transfer fees with a pinch of salt. Palace's approach this summer seems to be that of paying well over the odds for players to make sure their rivals don't get a sniff.

Dwight Gayle went for 10
Benteke looks like going again for 30+

Both Lacazette and Batschyai have far better pedigree then them both so you could argue they are good value

Re: Our approach to transfers
Every club will have its strategy and some of that will reflect where they are in the pecking order.
I wont get too worked up about rumours until we do or don't announce a signing.
Id suspect some of our 'interest' and even 'bids' are smokescreens and even RUSES to put pressure on the clubs of our real targets.
I suspect we are keeping a few on the boil.
If I had to guess (and it is a GUESS) I suspect we will hover around Lacazette in case circumstances change.
They probably wont and we will end up wresting Palace for Benteke. And most likely come out on top.

That said I'd prefer our owners and offspring to shut the fuck up and delete INSIDER.

Re: Our approach to transfers
yes. it's been a bit disappointing, especially when you consider how much money they have to spend. maybe they'll still bring in the 'big name striker' we need but I wouldn't hold my breath. im pleased with feghouli though and nordveit should also be a good buy

Re: Our approach to transfers
It's only scattergun if you believe that everything the press writes is true, which is highly unlikely.

Alex V 11:14 Tue Jul 5
Re: Our approach to transfers
We clearly bid £30m+ for both Batshuayi and Lacazette. Absurd prices - nobody could argue those are value deals. If that's not a club going all out for a player I don't know what is!
